Pirate Cat Radio Showcase: Whiting Tennis | Oakland

Pirate Cat Radio’s local artist showcase reaches up to Seattle for its latest finding: folk rocker Whiting Tennis.

The Uptown hosts a free early show at 7 pm with Whiting Tennis, an indie artist supported here by a backing band that includes bass, drums, cello and steel pedal slide guitar.

Later, the fun continues with a dance party featuring The Frail and Live 105 DJ Miles for a mere $5. In our experience, though, if you’re there for the earlier show they don’t kick you out just so you can then pay the entry fee.
