Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

The Noise Pop Festival is San Francisco’s (and Funcheap’s) favorite indie music and art festival.

Now in its 28th year, Noise Pop has brought early exposure to many emerging artists in the Bay Area and beyond, many of whom have gone on to widespread acclaim like Raphael Saadiq, Benjamin Gibbard, Maya Jane Coles, Best Coast, Duster, Washed Out and Helado Negro.

Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 24 to Sunday, March 1, 2020 transforms the Bay Area into a festival ground with multiple events taking place across the city each night.

Happy Hour | Noise Pop 2020 Music & Art Festival | SF

Noise Pop and Bay Bridged present a Happy Hour featuring Future Twin, Cocktails and Blood Sister, plus they promise $2 Jameson shots and free food.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

Future Twin – There are many parts to the still-young history of San Francisco’s Future Twin: their origins in the city’s first all-girl moped gang, the Lockits; their ever-active eye on burgeoning counterculture; their dedication to the community from which they formed; and their musical anthems that share tales—good, bad, and liberating—of life in their beloved city.

Cocktails started playing in and around San Francisco in 2012 calling their sound “slop pop” – more or less their cover for drunkenly attempting to play catchy rock music. They’ve since released a couple 7-inches, have a debut LP on the way via Father/Daughter Records, and added even bigger synth and guitar hooks to their ever-present boy/girl harmonies.

Blood Sister – When guitarist Ezana Edwards of Brooklyn’s Night Managers moved back to his hometown of San Francisco, he joined forces with Ryan Grubbs of psychedelic guitar-pop locals Ganglians to form Blood Sister. The group’s first release, the ‡ EP, features four songs of lofty noise-pop lurking behind a glittering wall of DIY distortion.
