Spend Valentine’s Day with Smith Westerns… The Chicago garage-influenced rockers’ sophomore release, Dye It Blonde (out January 18th on Fat Possum), signals a new sound and direction for the foursome. Produced by Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach House), Dye It Blonde promises a lusher, more diverse, and larger-budgeted affair.
This is a FREE show courtesy at Amoeba. On Feb 13th, they play a show at Bottom of the Hill, but that one costs $12 to get it.
About The Band: Smith Westerns
When Cullen Omori, his little brother Cameron, and Max Kakacek formed Smith Westerns in 2007, they were still in high school. Since then, they have managed to tour both the United States and Europe while supporting the likes of MGMT, Florence and the Machine, Belle and Sebastian, Girls, and Passion Pit. Their lo-fi self-titled album, released in 2009, garnered critical acclaim for their youthful and glam rock tinged approach to pop music. Click the link below to hear the band.
