Did you know food sold in supermarket averages some 1,500 miles from farm to plate? Maybe it’s time to listen to locavores.
This event is a healthy conversation with Bernal neighbor-entrepreneurs who have all dedicated themselves to putting the “locavore” philosophy into practice.
CONVERSATION INCLUDES:
- Tia Harrison of Avedano’s Meats
- Josh Donald, the owner of Bernal Cutlery
- Jane Wattenberg, author, beekeeper, chicken owner and egg farmer
- moderator Marian Chatfield-Taylor, Friends of the SFPL.
Listen, comment and consider some of the questions which concern them: how does one contribute as a professional to their community; how to contribute to changing our food system; how to incorporate “locavore” ideals into daily life and work; and how can children get involved?
