Delta Aquarids Meteor Shower
Late Late Monday Night
July 28, 2014 – 11:59 pm to 4:00 am
Free to Watch – Just look up!In 2014, it peaks on the night of July 28 and morning of July 29, but unlike many meteor showers, the Delta Aquarids lack a very definite peak. Instead, these medium-speed meteors ramble along fairly steadily throughout late July and early August. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight to an hour or two before dawn.
Meteors will radiate from the constellation Aquarius, but can appear anywhere in the sky.
2014 should be a great year for this shower because the thin crescent moon will set early in the evening leaving dark skies for what should be a good show.
