Event Details

“From the Quarters to Lincoln Heights” (2010) is a new documentary by James Langford and Mark Oliver. The film chronicles the history of how significant African American communities in Siskiyou County towns of Weed, McCloud, Mt. Shasta and Dunsmuir. California came to root themselves in such unlikely places. Migrating from the southern United States in the 19920s to work in some of the world’s largest lumber mills, the film will explore how these unique communities thrived in these multi-racial towns. From the Quarters will tell this little known history revealing the early inter-racial relationships the existed in Northern California
