Love vegetables? Love “Free”? Love ditching work on Tuesday or Thursday mornings to get both of those things? Then you’ll love “First 50 Freebies in February.”

CUESA, the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture has put together a program for February 2011 to hand out free farmers market vegetables each Tuesday and Thursday at 10am. Be one of the first 50 people to come to the market on any Tuesday or Thursday in February –  and you’ll get a free farm-fresh treat + a recipe.

The specific deal each day will be tweeted and Facebooked the morning of, but we’ve got advanced word that the giveaway on Tuesday February 8th will be free pomegranates from Twin Girls Farm along with a free recipe

About the “First 50 Freebies in February”: On Tuesdays and Thursdays all month long, early weekday shoppers at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market will be rewarded just for showing up. Beginning at 10 am, CUESA will issue a coupon redeemable for a fresh farmers market treat to the first 50 people who claim it. Come to the info booth to collect your freebie and you’ll get a free recipe to go with it.
