If you read the awesome tutorials on Instructables or watch MythBusters—longingly hoping you had the stuff and know-how to make some cool stuff yourself, well, the TechShop is for you.

TechShop is a one-of-a-kind, do-it-yourself membership based workshop that’s got it all: From sewing machines to welding equipment, to woodworking, to mills, lathes and laser cutters you really can fabricate just about anything you can think of here. They also offer tons of classes so you actually know what you’re doing.

We are pleased to announce the formal Grand Opening of our new TechShop San Francisco location. This year we’re opening shops in Detroit and Brooklyn.

Maker extraordinaire Adam Savage, co-host of MythBusters, will take part in our 12pm ribbon cutting ceremony and 1pm keynote talk followed by tours of the shiny new shop and demonstrations of our equipment throughout the day.

Joining the party will be your favorite SF food trucks (Chairman Bao, Hapa SF and more) as well as The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen.
