The sheep having been eating grass and growing wool all year long. Now is the time for their haircut. Come to Hidden Villa Farm for Sheep Shearing Day 2012 for this one-of-a-kind event.
See the sheep get their annual hair cut and cheer hardworking herding dogs as they round up sheep and then watch as the thick wool is sheared. Please note this event is in Los Altos.
Cool Wool Activities: Learn how to spin, how to make dye out of vegetables, even how to weave! Take home a felted pouch, create some crazy yarn critters, and try out finger knitting. Special Little Lambs activity area for toddlers and preschoolers too.
Is it geared towards adults as well? Yes – adults enjoy watching the sheep and the dogs – also, there are crafts that are cool to try. The farm is a pleasant, off the grid way to spend the day.
