A Social Genocide, screening Thursday January 14th, 8 p.m. at The New Nothing Cinema
In light of recent events the South-of-Market Psychogeographical Society will screen Fernando Solanas’ 2003 documentary about another country in the throes of a financial crisis, Argentina in 2001-2. The rapid recession that ensued, and the popular response that followed, were much more dramatic than anything we have seen in the US thus far this round, and serve as a much needed inspiration and explanation as California has its own Structural Readjustment Plan shoved down its throat.
As always The New Nothing is a collaborative cinema project and all are encouraged to bring light snacks and beverages to share.
