“New Growth 2017” Arts Showcase | SF

Root Division proudly presents New Growth 2017: EmPOWERing Peace, Justice & Love, the annual Youth Art Celebration & Exhibition, featuring hands-on family art-making activities alongside an exhibition of artwork made by students and instructors in Root Division’s free after school Youth Education Program. This year, they will also be displaying work made in their visual and performing arts programming.

This family-friendly event includes complimentary refreshments, a mobile printmaking station, t-shirt tie-dying, flower crown creating, and live performances by Youth Speaks, Destiny Arts, Youth Art Exchange and San Francisco Rock Project.

Celebrating 17 years in 2017, Youth Art Exchange is a dynamic arts organization with a citywide reach. We invest in multidisciplinary arts and leadership development programs by connecting professional artists to young emerging artists from San Francisco public high schools through free after-school visual, performing, and technical arts programs and paid internships in the arts. Youth Art Exchange sparks a shared creative practice between professional artists and public high school students, furthering youth as leaders, thinkers, and artists in San Francisco.
