In Turkish “zerre” means particle. Here It is a metaphor for the lack of power that the main character experiences. Zeynep (Jale Arıkan) lives with her mother and daughter outside of Istanbul.
Most days she looks for work, and survives by doing menial tasks. When she hears of a job at a textile factory five hours from her home she thinks it might be the solution that will boost her out of poverty. Once, she sets foot in the factory, she find deplorable conditions, but she tries to make it work.
