Lunch Prose At The Library | SF

Did you know that Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lanford Wilson wrote his first play during lunch hours while working at a Chicago advertising agency? On his lunch break as an art curator, Frank O’Hara walked the streets of Manhattan, jotting down observations and ruminations that eventually grew into Lunch Poems, his acclaimed book of poetry.

Inspired by Wilson and O’Hara, Lunch Prose At The Library, sponsored by the Noe Valley/Sally Brunn branch of the San Francisco Public Library, is a noontime free-writing adventure that is all about getting words on the page… without judgment or inhibition. San Francisco book editor, writer and founder of the Write Now! writing workshops Kathy Dalle-Molle will dish up inspiring, imaginative prompts to get you started on your writing endeavor.

All genres and levels of writing experience are welcome and encouraged to attend this intimate 12-person writing group. So pull up a chair, bring your favorite notebook and pen and join us. Advance sign-up is required. You can sign-up for one, two or all three of the workshop dates.
