SF Women’s Race Has Run Its Course
Say goodbye to race-themed Tiffany’s necklaces and running into the strong arms of firemen at the finish line.
Because this year, Nike has decided to “just not do it” when it comes to hosting the 2016 Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco.
For the past 12 years, the popular and inspiring race has been held in SF, drawing a crowd of over 25,000 participants at its latest race in October. But starting this year you’ll have to “Just do it” on your own, or at a non-Nike race.
So far, Nike has offered no explanation as to why the race has been canceled (along with races in D.C. and Toronto) and says they will post updates on Nike.com and on Facebook whenever the next race may (or may not) be.
What’ll they take away from San Francisco next? Santa Con? Actually, yea, you can go ahead and take that one…
