Original Famous Twang Sundays is a free, all-ages concert series at Thee Parkside in Potrero Hill.
Come by every Sunday; there’s always a fresh traditional or contemporary live act and a surprise special to purchase from the kitchen.
This Sunday, January 31st Original Famous Twang Sundays welcomes Sweet Chariot, Angelica Rockne to Thee Parkside. Sweet Chariot is a San Francisco and Oakland based quartet with members who prefer old gear and cold beer. They play dusty desert jams, classic biker rock, and timeless power-pop trimmed in the bygone tones of West Coast canyon-twang.
Featuring members of Mover, Hot Lunch, The Cramps, Ride The Blinds, Nik Turner’s Hawkwind, Parchman Farm and Planes of Satori.
Angelica Rockne: “A sure mark of talent in a singer/songwriter shows when a long distance has been traveled relative to the length of a song they’ve sung. Angelica’s soulful, mischievous voice travels far with hints of Stevie Nicks and Lana Del Ray while charged with her own unique, innovative style. In the mournful blues of ‘Human Being’ it’s not a stretch to hear the full Phil Spector treatment behind it, or on ‘What Will I Dream’ with its flavours of soul and country we likewise hear someone steeped in tradition while pushing things forward at her own pace.
