Event Details

You’re invited to an intimate musical evening with Emmy Award-Winning, Oscar-Nominated Composer-Performer Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ. This night on February 4, is a sneak peek of Notes from Vietnam, a full concert with the Oakland Symphony, taking place on February 12 at the Paramount.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ will perform music from three regions of Vietnam fused with traditional, jazz, hip-hop and classical music. All ages are welcome. You’ll enjoy complimentary appetizers, and beverages will be available for purchase.

“Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ is a veteran when it comes to taking risks, and it pays off in her compelling music. As a young girl in Vietnam, she knew she wanted to be a traditional musician, even though it was a world dominated by men. It was risky, then, when she pestered a master teacher for three years to give her lessons. He finally gave in, taking her on as an apprentice.” – NPR
