These are public screenings of Character Project, a series of eight short films—some narratives, others more like documentaries—inside a “screening capsule” (aka shipping container) set-up for a few days on Justin Herman Plaza.

It’s touring through NYC, LA, SF and Chicago and will be here Friday-Sunday, May 20-22 with multiple screenings of each film from 10 am to 8 pm.

  • Duck – A short film by Jakob Daschek. With help from a local boxing trainer, a boy with a crippling phobia learns to confront his fears.
  • Fish – A short film by RJ Cutler. See the journey from ocean to table, as renowned chef Jon Shook transforms the day’s catch into a delectable meal.
  • Love Without Regret – A short film by Tomás Peña / boolab. In this time-bending romantic tale, a man races desperately towards a second chance at love. Features the all-new CT Hybrid from Lexus.
  • Monster Slayer – A short film by Caskey. A man with a psychiatric disorder struggles to choose between real life and a world of imaginary friends.
  • Perfect – A short film by Amie Steir. Anne’s dream wedding has finally arrived – will she be able to step out of her perfect sister’s shadow on her big day.
  • The Dude – A short film by Jeff Feuerzeig. A look at the colorful real-life inspiration behind The Big Lebowski’s iconic title character.
  • The Fickle – A short film by Bryan Poyser. In one dizzying morning, a young woman relives twelve failed love affairs.
  • Wyckoff Place – A short film by Lauri Faggioni. In a Brooklyn apartment building, a group of culturally-diverse children come together as friends.
