San Francisco’s Carnaval Parade & Festival
The 2016 San Francisco Carnaval Festival (May 28-29, 2016 from 10 am to 6 pm) transforms Harrison Street into a wonderland. The 2016 theme is ¡Viva La Madre Tierra!, which is Spanish for “Mother Earth,” celebrates Mother Earth’s prevalence in many cultures worldwide as the manifestation of the natural world. Harrison Street between 16th and 24th Streets
FREE, but donations acceptedSpanning eight blocks, this two-day annual street festival takes place on Harrison Street between 16th and 24th Streets.
On Sunday, May 29th, the Grand Parade starts at 9:30am at the corner of 24th and Bryant Streets, where it will proceed west to Mission Street. From there, the parade heads north on Mission down to 17th Street, where it will turn east and flow into the festival area.
