Besides the outdoor marches and gatherings, one of Pride SF’s most public displays is the giant cloth pink triangle installed for the weekend at the top of Twin Peaks to remember gay victims of the Holocaust.
The pink triangle was used by the Nazis in concentration camps to identify and shame homosexuals. It has since been embraced by the gay community as a symbol of pride.
Pink Triangle Ceremony

Twin Peaks Vista Overlook
FREE
The massive triangle can be seen for 20 miles on a clear day and is made up of over 175 bright pink canvassas and thousands of steel spikes.
This will be the 24th Pink Triangle display. The community has embraced the pink triangle as a symbol of pride, though it was once used in an attempt to label and shame. This must remind people of the hatred of the past to help educate others so that what happened in the Holocaust won’t be forgotten and won’t be repeated.
