No Thanksgiving for the Turkeys: All-Vegan Potluck | Berkeley

For some, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gather and celebrate with family and friends, however this holiday is filled with historical and continuing violence.

For everyone who is seeking an alternative to this holiday, who does not want to witness people eating animals’ bodies, or who has taken the Liberation Pledge, they offer an alternative all-vegan potluck to challenge the conventional Thanksgiving celebration centered around the erasure of indigenous communities and mass killing of turkeys.

Everyone is welcome – vegan or not – however all food at the event must be vegan. Please note that some folks in attendance will be fasting, but don’t be shy to come regardless of if you are fasting or not. Those who are fasting will break their fast at midnight.
