Celebrate the kick off of 2021 with a day of free parking throughout the city of San Francisco.
Although parking hazardously is always ticketable and towable – as is parking in a red or blue zone – much of the rest of the city is yours for the parking.
Here’s the Basics courtesy of SFMTA:
New Year’s Day – Friday, January 1, 2021
The following parking regulations will not be enforced anywhere in the city:
- Parking meters (including Port meters)
- Seven-day street sweeping
- Residential parking permits
- Monday-Friday daytime street sweeping
- Commuter towaway
Safety Violations (No Stopping, No Parking, Red Zones, Blue Zones): Enforced
In the Mission Bay and China Basin areas, SFMTA parking rates change for special events and gamedays at Oracle Park and Chase Center.
