About Friday Nights at the De Young
Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of free interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, art activities and lectures in the public spaces of the museum.
Please note that admission to the museum’s galleries is not free on Friday nights, but instead all of the events listed above take place in the museum’s “free zone” right by the entrance and are free and open the public and do not require tickets.
November 25 Event Schedule
6:00–8:30 p.m.:Hands-on art-making where you can create your own family tree.
6:30–8:30 p.m.: Audio installation by SpacEKrafT
6:30–8:30 p.m.: Live music by Pure Ecstasy
6:30-7:15 p.m.: World premiere screening of “Fam Bam” by de Young Artist Fellow Kevin Epps with Q&A
6:00–8:30 p.m.: Closing Reception for muralist John Wehrle and his project Rising Tide: A Post-Cautionary Tale, a work in progress. John has installed a scaled-up gridded drawing, and visitors are invited to participate in painting this gigantic mural.
