Wing Wednesdays: SF’s 25¢ Chicken Wing Guide
This wing list is curated for Funcheap by Cooper Daly of SF Brunch Club, your home on the internet for your San Francisco bottomless brunch needs. Updated November 2017
Wing Wednesday is a time-honored tradition in the world of bar specials. Why Wednesdays? 1) Alliteration is Amazing 2) Wednesdays aren’t generally busy at bars, but people love cheap wings; ergo, a match made in heaven.
>> Here’s Funcheap’s guide to five of SF’s best “Wing Wednesday” spots – Most are 25 cents with one 50 cent spot thrown in for Richie Rich.
Naturally, San Francisco has plenty of Wing Wednesday specials; here are a few of the classics:.
Bullitt – 25 cent wings
Bullitt’s one of our favorite spots, sitting right in the middle of Polk in Russian Hill. The bar isn’t huge and does get crowded, but once you find a table it doesn’t take long to figure out why. They’ve got multiple flavors of wings, great service and TVs everywhere in case there’s a game on. If you want your wings even cheaper, take on their “Don’t fear the reaper challenge” – eat four of their hottest wings in five minutes and all your wings are free.
- Wing Special: 25 cent wings in five flavors with a two drink minimum
- 2209 Polk St | Russian Hill | 4pm-2am Wednesday

Ho’s Bootleg Tavern – 25 cent wings
Not far from Bullitt, Ho’s Bootleg Tavern is right on Van Ness in Russian Hill. It doesn’t get very crowded for Wing Wednesdays, and they’ve got delicious wings. If it’s too crowded at Bullitt or you just want somewhere quiet to enjoy your wings, Ho’s is a great choice.
- Wing Special: 25 cent wings (must order in batches of 12) in three flavors with a two drink minimum
- 2360 Van Ness St | Russian Hill | 5pm-2am Wednesday

Teeth – 25 cent wings
The bar formerly known as “Dr. Teeth” and now is Muppet-less is a classic Mission bar that’s got it all – TVs, shuffleboard, and a huge outdoor patio with lots of space and cornhole to play. It’s so popular, though, that Wing Wednesday gets absolutely packed. If you’re in the Mission and you can stand the crowd, though, Teeth is definitely an option.
- Wing Special: 25 cent wings in three flavors with a two drink minimum (but it’s almost always too crowded for them to enforce the minimum)
- 2323 Mission St | Mission | 4pm-2am Wednesday

Bar None – 25 cent wings
Much like Score (see below), Bar None is best known for its beer bong, so you probably won’t be surprised when I tell you it’s in the heart of the Marina on Union. They only do one flavor of wing (good old fashioned buffalo), but they do them very well. Best to get here early, though – when kickball leagues finish up their Wednesday games, all the players tend to flood Bar None.
- Wing Special: 25 cent wings with a two drink minimum
- 1980 Union St | Marina | 4pm-2am Wednesday

Score! Sports Bar and Lounge – 50 cent wings
Yes, they’re double the price, but 50 cents still ain’t bad. Score is on Broadway in North Beach, and it’s a huge space with beer pong tables as far as the eye can see. It’s also almost never crowded on Wednesday (the exception is if there’s a huge Giants/Warriors game on), so the service is excellent (as are the wings).
- Wing Special: 50 cent wings in five flavors with a two drink minimum
- 490 Broadway St | North Beach | 5pm-12am Wednesday
