San Francisco goes green for a day with three different block parties on St. Patrick’s Day 2010, free cab rides (yes! free taxi ride home after getting drunk) U2 tribute bands, live Irish dancing and more accordion and fiddle playing than you can carefully shake your Guinness at.
Here’s our list of our favorite events this year – most are free, but some require you to show up early to avoid paying a cover charge… but don’t worry… we’ll tell you all the details so you can enjoy St. Patrick’s Day on the cheap

Rise up early and be among the first to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the annual Irish Bank St. Patrick’s Day block party. The festivities begin at 6am (yikes!!) with a live broadcast with No Name, Matty and Katie on the Live 105 Morning Show until 10am.

March 17th is Farley’s 21st Anniversary in Potrero Hill – Join them for live bagpipes at 9am with followed by live Irish music until noon. That night at 8pm the Soul Delights play their popular R&B tunes for your dancing pleasure.
