Bring your swords and cutlasses and grog and get ready to sing some sea shanties at the second annual Apocalyptic Pirate Party featuring The Liz O Show, Jugtown Pirates, and Vagabondage at San Francisco’s own 50 Mason Social House on Sunday, May 26, 2013.
Admission is $4 when you mention FuncheapSF at the door. Otherwise $5.
Doors will open at 7 pm for free cupcakes and mingling. At 8 pm Vagabondage takes the stage. There might also be an after-party on the beach depending on fire regulations and how easy it is to get around them. Stay tuned.
Vagabondage is the San Francisco Bay Area’s premiere drunk-folk band. With flasks held high, they play songs of heartbreak, hope, and doom, and have been getting people up on their feet to yell, drink, and sing along to their original songs since 2008.
The Jugtown Pirates are a psychedelic rock/bluegrass band which they label as “San Fran-psycho grass.” They bring a fully energetic sound to each and every show, always with new twists and daring adventures amidst their flood of euphonic endeavors.
The Liz O Show is a bawdy spectacle of sparkles, grit, sass, and soul. All original music, each song is a colorful story set to raucous rhythms and a feel of 1960’s rock and roll. The effervescent Liz O will be your emcee for the evening, accompanied by her large stuffed sidekick, Boppity Bear.
In addition to music, there will be games such as Cards against Humanity, and Pin the Patch on the Pirate. They will also destroy a gigantic seahorse piñata. There will be photo opportunities with the aforementioned Boppity Bear until he gets too drunk to function, which usually happens early in the night.
