2nd Sundays Dance Salon | SoMa

Dancers’ Group and CounterPULSE present 2nd Sundays, an open discourse project in which artists share works in progress and participate in a constructive conversation with audience members and fellow artists.

This is an exciting opportunity to advance the open exchange of ideas and participate in the creative process of performing artists.

This month’s salon includes work from:

Becky “B-Boogie” Bearse / B-Boogie Dance
Awakening brings the viewer on a fantastic visual journey, featuring unusual movement phrases, floor work and intricate choreography based in African, modern and house.

Jenny McAllister / 13th Floor Dance Theater
Using McAllister’s unique brand of dark, intelligent humor, the work explores our culture’s ambivalence towards art vs. entertainment.

Julia Cost
This work depends on the truth of the dancers’ sensitivity and aims for that realm in which the highly personal flips back outward so that others may read their own lives into it.
