Head to Jack London Square (or the Wind River Park in Alameda) and nab a perfect viewing spot for the 38th Annual Oakland/Alameda Estuary Lighted Yacht Parade, starting just after sunset at 5:30 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

This Bay Area tradition features dozens of festively decorated boats as they cruise along the estuary in competition for prizes. Free parking is provided at the Main Street terminal.

Want to watch the parade from on the water for free?

Public viewing areas are available at Jack London Square and along the public access walkway in Wind River Park in Alameda. Although parking in the Wind River campus is not available, you can park in the adjacent business parking lots. View a map of  parking areas.

Want to see the parade up close? San Francisco Bay Ferry invites the public to participate in the festivities by riding the Alameda/Oakland ferry, which will also be entered into the competition. Bring a toy to donate to Toy for Tots and ride the parade ferry for free. Otherwise ferry fairs are $6.25 for adults.

The special Lighted Yacht Parade ferry service is only available from the Alameda Main Street ferry terminal located at 2990 Main Street. The ferry departs from Main Street at 5:15 pm and returns to the terminal at 6:45 pm. Please note that Clipper cards are not accepted for this event. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis; tickets may be purchased onboard the ferry.
