The Candlelit Labyrinth

Annual Festival of Light & Gratitude on the bluffs of Baker Beach

This Black Friday, instead of enmeshing yourself in the worst of human behavior, why not come celebrate the best of it?

A local group of artists who call themselves the Museum of Joy will be celebrating the 2nd Annual Festival of Light & Gratitude by building a temporary candlelit labyrinth on the northern half of Baker Beach where Burning Man began.

2014 Festival of Light & Gratitude
Friday, November 28, 2014 | 4:50-7 pm
Northern Baker Beach, San Francisco
Free, but please RSVP on Facebook

Come walk the labyrinth, see the sun go down in splendid flames, and give thanks for whatever it is that keeps your light burning.

Sundown is at 4:51 pm and it would be awesome if you arrived in time to share the sunset with the group.

Come dressed & draped entirely in a color of your choosing, reflecting your intention for your walk through the labyrinth. White is encouraged, especially because it looks great by candlelight, but feel free to come in red or green or incandescent purple if your intention is to remind yourself of how eye-poppingly spectacular you are.

Event details may change, so make sure you check Facebook for the latest updates.

Interested in performing music, dance, circus arts, or other awesome acts at some point during the night’s festivities? Get in touch with the promoters.

Getting there:

  • Driving: If you’re coming from the East Bay and generously willing to share your car with other festival-goers, please post in the comments how many spaces you have and where you’re leaving from.
  • Muni: It’s slow going, but the 29 Sunset bus runs pretty much straight to the beach until almost midnight.
