Celebrity Chef Martin Yan’s M.Y. China Closes SF Restaurant
Thanks to Eater for breaking the news that unfortunately M.Y. China has permanently closed its doors due to the ongoing pandemic.
Celebrity Chef Martin Yan, who you might remember as host of the ’80s cooking show Yan Can Cook and also more recently an Iron Chef judge, opened his signature restaurant under the dome on the 4th floor of the Westfield San Francisco Centre nearly 10 years ago.
The restaurant had a open kitchen where M.Y. China’s Executive Chef Tony Wu would delight diners with his famous noodle pulling skills.
The restaurant’s location on the 4th floor was not ideal for takeout, so its been shuttered since the start of the pandemic. Chef Martin Yan told SF Gate that he is hopeful the restaurant would return in the future to the Bay Area.
