Event Details

Join us for a day of appreciation for the indigenous people of  California who have shared their knowledge of the native plants of our  region. We’ll focus on acorns and have an acorn processing demo as well  as sample some acorn bread and acorn porridge. We’ll also look at other  common edibles and medicinals you can grow or find along the trail.

  • We’ll provide the dough so bring some pizza toppings, or some other local, seasonal fare to share and compare at our ultra-local potluck.
  • Check out the farm and see appropriate technology demos like solar ovens and dehydrators (if it’s sunny), rocket stove, compost toilet, pedal power, earthen structures and of course the cob oven.
  • Bring your own utensils if you got em, and musical instruments, parlor tricks and special talents are always welcome too!
