Event Details

The Art Gallery in the Cesar Chavez Student Center at SFSU presents Vanishing Point. The opening reception will take place on Friday, April 13th, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm. The show runs from April 13th to May 15th, 2012.

Vanishing Point: Uncovering Invisible Boundaries, Rare Maps, and Systems of Thought strives to bridge the gap between cartographic documentation and artistic practice. Maps are capable of facilitating and observing larger concepts than mere geography, such as: the orientation of oneself in the world, the existence of social boundaries, and the relationship between space, time, and change in respect to specific locations.

The Art Gallery at San Francisco State University is a student-run and student-funded program of the Cesar Chavez Student Center. The gallery is dedicated to bringing the visual and interdisciplinary arts to the multicultural student body at San Francisco State University through a diverse series of exhibitions of both student and non-student work.
