Stay awhile and soak in the sun while listening to the patriotic sounds of the San Jose Wind Symphony. The day promises to be full of patriotic summertime fun for all.
2014 Event Schedule
11 am-1:30 pm: Hometown Picnic & Games (Oak Meadow Park) – The day will begin with some good ol’ family fun including games provided by LGS Recreation and TeenForce, and entertainment by the Sizzling Seniors.
11 am-1:30 pm: Red, White, & Blue BBQ (Oak Meadow Park) – Delicious BBQ favorites and ice cold drinks will be available for purchase.
1:30-3:30 pm: Strike Up the Band (Oak Meadow Park) - The traditional San Jose Wind Symphony concert will begin with a Flag Raising Ceremony and Mayor’s Welcome, followed by an afternoon of marches, popular tunes and patriotic songs. They’ll also honor our local service men and women with a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony at intermission.
3:30-4:30 pm: Yankee Doodle Dancing (Oak Meadow Park Bandstand) – Get ready for an old fashioned toe tappin’, finger snappin’ good time with a performance by the Peninsula Banjo Band.
Please note, in 2014 the events are taking place in Oak Meadow Park, not in the Los Gatos Civic Center area like in past years.
