Free Movies in the Park | Oakland

Movies in the Park is back with family friendly films in the park by the Redwood Heights Recreation Center in Oakland.

Popcorn and hot chocolate are available for sale. Dress warm and bring a lawn chair and or blanket. You will want to bring some mosquito spray as well.

Proceeds support scholarships for the center’s after-school programs and summer camp.

Movies begin at dusk on the lawn outside the recreation center.

  • Friday, June 14, 2019 – Smallfoot

Please Note: Movies may be cancelled due to bad weather. Please do not bring alcohol, drugs or dogs; they’re not allowed in the park. Check the website often, as they hope to add a movie or two throughout the season.

We Bought a Zoo is a 2011 American family comedy-drama film based on the 2008 memoir of the same name by Benjamin Mee. Set in Southern California, a father moves his young family to the countryside to renovate and re-open a struggling zoo.
