Honky-Tonk By The Beach: Country/Honky-Tonk Night with the Ozark Hillbilly, aka DJ Shelby Ash, every 1st Thursday at the Bay Area’s best little honky-tonk by the beach, The Riptide. Located in the Sunset District of San Francisco, The Riptide was built in 1941 and has the look and feel of a small town lodge with rustic brick flooring, high ceilings, knotty pine walls and raging fireplace, not too mention the honky-tonk vibe. The Riptide’s newest DJ night, “Honky-Tonk By The Beach” is a showcase of vintage honky-tonk, classic country, 70s outlaw country, truck drivin’ country, beer drinkin’ country music.
