SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2025
The 2025 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 10, 2025 with La Santa Cecilia to kick off its 25th Anniversary Season.
Korea’s ancient percussion tradition encompasses rituals, songs and incantations that align with elemental powers. Kim So Ra’s A Sign of Rain offers a rare Bay Area opportunity to experience some of Korea’s most celebrated traditional musicians, artists dedicated to combining old and new, East and West.
An award-winning percussionist, composer, and ambassador of Jeongeup folk music, Kim So Ra is one of the most skilled and prominent masters of Korea’s double-sided janggu drum. For this performance she joins forces with her husband, dancer and multi-instrumentalist Seung-Hun Hyun, Lim Ji Hye on gayageum (Korean zither), and Lee Hye Joong on piri (Korean bamboo oboe). Their project A Sign of Rain was nominated at the 2019 Korean Music Awards for Best Jazz & Crossover Album.
