SF’s Only City Outdoor Pool Reopens Today
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department reopened the only city-owned outdoor pool, Mission Pool, for limited capacity lap swim starting October 5th.
WHEN:
Open Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. -5:30 p.m. (Closed Sundays)

– There are half-hour breaks in between each swim lap session.
– Seniors only from 9am to 11:30am

DETAILS:
Mission Pool is welcoming back lap swimmers while making big changes in operations to comply with the current health order.
Among the changes: Temperature checks required, no more than four people in the water at any time, swimmers 14+ only, and all one-hour sessions must be reserved and purchased ($7) online.
Air Quality Updates:
In the event that the facility is closed due to poor air quality, you will receive a credit for your missed swim. The pool will remain open unless the air quality reaches the RED zone
Updated Rules/COVID Guidelines
- Participants MUST register for lap swim sessions. No drop-ins allowed.
- Swimmers must be 14 or older.
- Please shower at home and come dressed to swim. There is no locker room, changing area or shower access. A single occupancy restroom is available.
- Arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your swim time. Swimmers can show up no later than 15 minutes late.
- Masks must be worn at all times when out of the water. Please keep 6 feet of distance from others.
- We’ll be conducting temperature checks and health screenings. If you are feeling ill, stay home.
- Sharing equipment is not allowed. Swimmers can bring their own goggles, kickboards, and pull buoys.
- Do not congregate with others on deck.
- You will be asked to dress on deck and leave as soon as possible after your swim, following the egress path to the street.
