Union Square Closing Streets for the Holidays
Thanks to KRON4 for sharing the news that after the recent brazen looting incidents, San Francisco announced that it will be limiting vehicle access in Union Square.
The news was shared during a joint press conference with Mayor London Breed and the San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott. Breed announced that, “We’re going to be making some changes to Union Square and how cars are able to access. There will be limited access in terms of when you come to this area.”
Police Chief Scott detailed that Union Square will have an increased police presence for the foreseeable future.
Union Square announced on Instagram that the street closures will be in effect for the 2021 holiday season during evenings from 7pm to 6am.
