January Nature Walk and Bird Count

Everyone Welcome Always
Location: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
Winter Waylayers?
Why do more birds live in San Francisco in the Winter than in the Summer?
Our next foray occurs right in the heart of the metropolis, with Sutro Tower hulking above.
Prepare for California Native Plants of all kinds, including rhododendrons and coast redwood trees (some of the most ancient plants and tallest trees in the world!).
Beyond the plant kingdom, we will of course count birds along the very easy, wide, and mostly paved (mostly ADA accessible) paths, while in search of closeup encounters of a thick concentration of passerine and waterfowl visitors. Kinglets, waxwings, sapsuckers, fox sparrows, squirrels, geese, and lots of little forest birds that call the Bay Area their “winter home”, will be ON display, as well as starting TO display.
Ample free parking and public transit/ride shares, restrooms, and water fountains.
Go to Eventbrite and type in “Nature Walk and Bird Count” and LushNature should pop up, or contact me with questions/comments regarding the exact meeting location at: james a lush nature at g mail dot com .
