Hosted by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, Hearts in San Francisco 2024 opens January 9 at the San Francisco Ferry Building. The free public display of heart sculptures created by Bay Area artists in support of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) will run through February 29, 2024. 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of Hearts in SanFrancisco.

The 17 new Hearts will be joined by four additional 20th Anniversary Collection Hearts from the special 20th-anniversary celebration year. These Large, Table Top, and Mini Hearts will be on display throughout the Marketplace beginning January 9th, 2024, and will remain at the Ferry Building until February 29th, 2024, with a brief hiatus from February 5th through 9th for the 2024 Hearts in SF Gala, taking place on February 8th at The Conservatory at One Sansome. All Hearts will be available as a part of the Hearts in SF auction, benefitting Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, beginning February 1st.

On display will be 21 Hearts: six Large, six Table Top, and nine Mini. The Large Hearts will be located near the entrances, and the Table Top and Mini Hearts will be displayed on pedestals throughout the building between vendors.

Hearts in San Francisco is one of the most widely recognized public art projects around the world. Since the project’s inception in 2004, San Francisco Bay Area artists have created more than 500 hearts that have gone on display all across the city of San Francisco and beyond, from Union Square to the lobbies and conference rooms of corporate supporters throughout the state, including Bank of America, Genentech, Intel, Kaiser, Twitter, and Wells Fargo. Each Heart is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art and celebrates the diversity of San Francisco through designs made of acrylic paints, mosaic art, mixed media, and more.
