In The Stax with Emily Brown at the Berkeley Public Library

In the Stax is a live-music series that takes place among the shelves of the Berkeley Public Library.

In November, the Claremont Branch  hosts  local songwriter and poet Emily Brown. Her impressive vocal range, wandering melodies, and conversational lyrical style have drawn frequent comparisons to Joni Mitchell, Judee Sill, and Fiona Apple.

She has released many impressive records and EPs including the formidable “A Fish of Earth” in 2020.
