SF’s Free Outdoor Movie Night: “Wicked” at Yerba Buena Gardens

Although the city-wide Sunset Cinema outdoor movie night program was canceled for 2025, movies in the park are alive in Yerba Buena Gardens as a screening of the hit 2024 musical Wicked transforms the Gardens into a grassy Emerald City!

Event – 6-10:30p
Film – Sunset (approx 8:30p)

Enjoy food and drinks from local restaurants, pre-show entertainment and no flying monkeys. Bring your blanket, low lawn chairs, and best Oz-themed garb (under your layers of course!). Cheer, hiss and sing along as Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande’s Galinda Upland become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Hint: It ain’t easy being green.

Outdoor Movie Night is part of The 2025 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival which hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs.
