San Francisco’s newest food hall is almost here.

The long-awaited The Mess Hall Presidio is expected to open in June 2026 at Presidio Tunnel Tops, bringing burgers, Korean fried chicken, oysters, coffee, cocktails and sweeping waterfront views to one of the city’s most scenic parks.

The new 6,200-square-foot food hall is opening inside a restored former U.S. Army building overlooking the Bay, with views of Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate Bridge and the city skyline.

Inside, The Mess Hall will feature three food concepts under one roof:

  • Breadwinner – smashburgers, hoagies and vegetarian sandwiches
  • Boda – Korean dishes including fried chicken, banchan and mandu
  • Dayboat Seafood – oysters, scallops and seafood classics

There will also be a café serving Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, a full cocktail-wine-beer bar, plus a market stocked with grab-and-go items and pantry goods.

The Mess Hall was originally expected to debut earlier, but the historic building’s restoration and permitting process took longer than planned.

While multiple reports still list the opening as June 2026, an exact opening date has not yet been announced as of May 28, 2026. The restaurant’s business listing is already live at 201 Halleck Street, so it looks like the finish line is close.

If you’ve been eyeing Tunnel Tops as a picnic-and-views destination, there may soon be oysters and burgers waiting at the top of the hill too.
