Scuderia Tech Nights launches a free, hands-on motorcycle workshop series for all skill levels, focusing on a six-month top-end engine rebuild of a 1971 Honda motorcycle. The first session covers basic motorcycle anatomy, systems, safe workshop practices, and essential tools, with both lecture and hands-on components. All genders, makes, and experience levels are welcome.

Program Overview

Scuderia Tech Nights is a six-month educational workshop series. It’s a safe space for all Genders Makes and models with no previous technical knowledge and up. Focused on understanding, servicing, and rebuilding the top end of a motorcycle engine. Participants will begin with foundational motorcycle mechanics and progressively work through systems theory, engine design, diagnostics, disassembly, machining considerations, measurement techniques, and final reassembly.

The course culminates in a complete top-end rebuild including:

  • Engine removal

  • Cylinder head disassembly

  • Piston replacement

  • Cylinder machining and honing

  • Valve inspection

  • Cam timing

  • Ignition timing

  • Torque procedures

  • Gasket installation

  • Final engine startup and tuning

This curriculum is designed for beginners and enthusiasts and emphasizes proper shop practices, factory specifications, and mechanical confidence.

Hands-On Activities

  • Practice torque wrench operation

  • Read and interpret technical specifications

  • Hardware organization methods and labeling

Learning Objectives
