Kite Fight!: Armed Kite Dogfight in the Sky | Marina Green

From the organizers of Urban Golf, and the Urban Iditarod comes Kite Fight! Flying pretty kites at Chrissy Fields is for sissies, the 9.8th Fighting Kite Brigade challenges YOU to a kite duel. That’s right, its time to start fighting with kites.

You can either watch from a safe distance, or if you want to participate, bring a crappy kite and whatever optional weaponry (nails, razor blandes, whatever) will lead you to domination of the skies. The Kite Brigade recommends getting the $1.50 plastic kites at Cliff’s Variety in the Castro or Walgreens in the Marina; delta or triangle kites working the best.

Bring more than one kite, it’s a kite fight after all, you’re bound to lose some.

– Marina Green- 286 Marina Blvd (The 22 Filmore drops you a block away)
– Free to participate if you bring your own kite, and free to watch

A word of warning – we have no idea if the organizers of Kite Fight have any idea that it’s Fleet Week on Saturday and we’re worried that there may be way too many people enjoying the blue angels in marina green to have razor-blade death kites flying around.
