SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
Gamelan Sekar Jaya, led by master artists from Bali including renowned composer I Made Subandi and legendary dancer Ni Ketut Arini, performs traditional and newly created works on three distinct gamelan ensembles: the brilliantly dynamic five-toned bronze gamelan gong kebyar; the stormy and virtuosic gender wayang batel ensemble of which Subandi is a master, and the rare and energetic ensemble of gigantic bamboo marimbas, gamelan jegog.
They will be joined by Sekar Jaya’s dancers, who articulate the music with the refined movement and tempestuous drama of Balinese dance. The 65-member company of musicians and dancers specializes in the performing arts of Bali, Indonesia.
