The Ferry Building Marketplace celebrates its eight annual Harvest Festival October 29th – 31st, 2010, with a range of free events including varietal Honey Tasting, Live Music, Face Painting and a Barnyard by the Bay.

Sat Oct 30
10 am Breakfast with Nigel Walker of Eatwell Farm
Nigel will discuss the varieties of wheat he is growing over pancakes made from this year’s harvest.

10 am -1 pm Apple pressing: Make your own cider with new harvest farmers market apples
A harvest display will also be set up in the CUESA kitchen filled with information about the history of the harvest. Stop by and take home recipes and preservation technique hand-outs.

11 am Seasonal Cooking Demonstration and Book Signing
Laura Stec, author of Cool Cuisine: Taking the Bite Out of Global Warming

11:45 am Seasonal Cooking Demonstration and Book Signing
Sarabeth Levine, author of Sarabeth’s Bakery: From My Hands to Yours

Sunday also features  live music, face painting and the much beloved Barnyard by the Bay – a free hands on petting zoo for kids of all ages
