Guests for the February 27, 2014 show include:
Paco Romane – Paco Romane, is an award-winning comedian and a familiar face to Bay Area comedy fans. He regularly performs stand-up comedy, improv, sketch comedy, and music. In 2012, he was voted “Best Comedian” in the SF Weekly “Best of the Bay,” (San Francisco Bay Guardian in 2005) and as NBC.com recently noted, “7 years of success have kept Paco Romane at the top of SF’s comedy scene.” In addition to stand-up, Paco is also a longtime member of the Bay Area sketch-comedy institution Killing My Lobster and was a founding member of Richter Scale, San Francisco’s premier socio-political sketch comedy groups. He also produces the SF-based comedy show “The Romane Event,” which The Onion hailed as “hilarious.” Paco has performed in many theatrical productions and is the only person to perform the same character in two different shows in the San Francisco Fringe Festival. He directed the sold-out show “Preaches To The Choir,” an original sketch comedy show with Killing My Lobster. He has written, directed, produced, scored, and acted in many original theater productions.
Clara Bijl – Clara was born in Paris, France, raised in the Alps, attended schools in Germany, Switzerland, and South Carolina; then one day, she moved to New York City to begin a career in stand-up comedy. Performing all around the Big Apple and the rest of the country, she became a prolific writer of cutting, witty, internationally flavored comedy. She was a semifinalist in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots competition; she performed in Holland’s “The Comedy Factory TV Show,” the 2005 and 2006 New York Underground Comedy Festival, the 2008 Detroit International Comedy Festival, and she wrote for the hit Swiss TV show, “Le Petit Silvant Illustré.”
Ron Chapman – Ron Chapman is a writer, a philosopher, an artist, and a pretty good rapper. He is the host and producer of the podcast Ron Talks To Girls, co-host of the weekly internet radio show Pick Me Up Radio, and co-producer of the interactive stand-up show Fun Times with Friends.
Ivan Hernandez – Ivan Hernandez combines dryness and yelling to discuss the important things in life like food, women, drugs, and comic books. Ever since beginning stand-up in his teens, his performances have been marked by a loud, sarcastic, self-deprecating wit. He’s performed at the 2011 and 2012 Bridgetown Comedy Festivals, the 2012 SF Sketchfest, the Florida Supercon comic book convention, the San Francisco Punchline, Litquake, the Purple Onion, and the first San Francisco Comedy and Burrito Festival.
Irene Tu – Irene Tu is a stand-up comic, writer, and performer from Chicago, now also living in San Francisco. Some have described her as “sarcastic,” but she just tells it like it is. She has been in SF Sketchfest, Limestone Comedy Festival, Chicago Women’s Funny Festival, and was a finalist in Rooftop Comedy’s National College Comedy Competition. You can see her perform all around Chicago and the Bay Area.
Jesse Fernandez – His self-described bio is as follows: “is head writer at eBaumsworld.com and can dunk a basketball. Jesse has written comedy for MSN, Starbucks, Hitachi, and girls are always like, ‘Wow, he just dunked a basketball.’”
