Scores of San Franciscans in period costumes will commemorate the 1906 “Big One” outside of John’s Grill with live music and historic displays on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Put on your best turn-of-the-century dress (or at least an Easter bonnet) and come on down to remember this time in San Francisco history.
The 45-Member George Washington High School Marching Band will perform, and actual historic firefighting equipment that saved San Francisco in 1906 will be on display in front of John’s Grill, including:
- SFFD Engine 22 1893 LaFrance, Steam Pumper
- a turn of the century converted horse drawn ladder truck will be out with modern SFFD fire engines
- SFPD Mounted Patrol
- The beloved (now retired) old coffee wagon that served free Bloody Marys at Lotta’s Fountain commemoration for decades
Please Note: The John’s Grill luncheon guest list is full. Feel free to come and enjoy the entertainment outside, but please take care to make your own lunch plans.
