1st Annual 24-Hour Marathon “Moby-Dick” Reading

San Francisco welcomes Herman Melville back to the Barbary Coast with a marathon reading of Moby-Dick at the Firehouse at Fort Mason on October 24 and 25, 2015.
The event will feature over 100 readers and performers who will bring the beloved classic to life, and will include food trucks, locally-brewed beer, and plenty of coffee to keep readers and listeners sustained throughout.
And there’s amazing views of Alcatraz.

Saturday, October 24 (Noon) to Sunday, October 25th (Noon)
Fort Mason Firehouse, SF – next to Festival Pavilion
FREE– Bring warm clothes – it can get chilly! Readings begin outside and move indoors. Camping chairs are good too, if you’re staying overnight, bring a sleeping bag or pillow
The reading will begin at noon on Saturday, October 24, continuing through the night until roughly noon on Sunday the 25th, and is free for all to attend.
Word for Word Performing Arts Company will be performing a suite of chapters around 7:30pm on Saturday evening. Other participating organizations reading are Green Apple Books, 826 Valencia, Cal Maritime, UC Berkeley, Stanford and more.
