Event Details

In this session, explore how the sharing/on-demand economy is reshaping the way we live, work, travel and do business in our cities, and the policy questions that these changes raise.

Explore how this innovation and disruption is benefiting the communities, and if all urban communities are being impacted equally.

The Aspen Institute Future of Work Initiative is working with policymakers and leaders of business and labor to examine and develop solutions to meet the long-term needs of workers and businesses alike in this new landscape.

As we learn the full extent and nature of the sharing/on-demand economy – which includes a wide variety of services, business models, and relationships with workers – it is a must to understand and shape the opportunities it creates and confront the challenges it presents.

Key questions

  • How is the sharing/on-demand model changing the way cities function?
  • What possibilities does inclusive innovation present for business, cities, and citizens?
  • How do we ensure equity in the sharing/on-demand economy?
